The IAAPA Manufacturers, Suppliers & Consultants Committee shares what they wish they’d known before their first IAAPA Expo:
1. Plan for comfort: Comfortable shoes, throat lozenges, and plenty of water.
2. Plan entry and exit: Taxis and rideshares can add 20–30 minutes getting back to your hotel.
3. Make time to walk the floor.
4. Keep extra show maps in your booth: IAAPA provides them, and visitors will ask for directions.
5. Use the IAAPA Connect+ App: Connect with attendees and view the agenda and on-site info.
6. Schedule breaks: Show days are long, so leave time for meals and a breather.
7. Register for networking events: They’re a great way to meet people away from the show floor.
8. Potential customers are everywhere: On your flight, in the elevator, at the hotel.
9. Be giveaway smart: Remember, you have to get it all home.
10. Pack hand sanitizer: You’ll shake a lot of hands.
